Active8-Planet is greening the VU campus - join us!

We welcome students from all disciplines to help us realize an inclusive community garden on our university campus.

Are you a master student or supervisor and looking for a research topic that matters? Join our EU-funded multidisciplinary project Active8-Planet to green our university campus and to make it more sustainable.

In many cities and university campuses, community gardens are being developed and researched. The Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam also wishes to green its campus, approaching it as a living lab. For example, students are encouraged to experiment with greening projects (e.g. there is a neglected island next to the Botanic garden Zuidas).

Assignment:

So, do you want to research which greenery would be most suitable for urban/campus greening, or which communication strategies would be most sustainable to recruit gardeners, or how to positively impact our campus climate through greening? Join this project!

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, including numerous stakeholders from various parts of our university. The project has a project facilitator to support the collaboration amongst the project team members - giving you easy access to research locations, new insights and potential for societal impact.

Application process:

Are you interested in joining our project, please send your CV and short motivation letter to active8@vu.nl. Do you first want more information? Contact: Soesja van Wijgerden (s.van.wijgerden@vu.nl) for all your questions.

We are looking forward to receiving your application!
